How to Play

1. Pick a difficulty - Easy, Medium or Hard - before you start.
2. Find a word from the list on the grid, then click or tap its first letter and drag to its last letter in a straight line.
3. On a keyboard, press Tab to reach the grid and use the arrow keys to move to a word's first letter. Press Enter to start a selection, move to the word's last letter (the highlighted line grows as you go), then press Enter again to submit it, or Escape to cancel. For a diagonal word, alternate two arrow keys, such as Right and Down.
4. A correctly selected word stays highlighted on the grid and is crossed out in the word list, and the Words Remaining count goes down.
5. Find every word on the list to complete the puzzle and see your final time and score.
6. Reset Game restarts the current puzzle: the same letters and words, with your score and timer back to zero. New Game creates a different puzzle.

Difficulty Differences

Easy uses a 10x10 grid with 8 words to find. Medium steps up to a 12x12 grid with 10 words. Hard uses a larger 15x15 grid with 12 words and longer words. On Easy and Medium, words run across (left to right), down, or diagonally downwards in either direction, so a diagonal word can read from right to left. Hard is the only difficulty where words can also be hidden backwards or upwards - right to left, bottom to top, and diagonally upwards - so on Hard, do not assume every word reads left-to-right or top-to-bottom.

Tips for Scanning the Grid

• Scan for the least common letter in a word first, such as Q, X or Z - it stands out and is quicker to spot than starting with a common letter like E or A.
• Work through the grid systematically, row by row or column by column, rather than jumping around at random.
• Check the diagonals on every difficulty, not only the rows and columns. On Hard, also look for words that run backwards or upwards once the obvious ones are found.
• If a word will not turn up, move to a different word on the list and come back to it with fresh eyes.
